Taayoo Murray

Taayoo Murray of New York City is a health writer and the mother of two boys. In 2016, her brother, 32 years old, was diagnosed with primary sclerosing cholangitis. He received a liver transplant in July 2018. Taayoo was his health advocate from diagnosis to transplantation, and is still currently his health advocate and proxy. Taayoo hopes to use her column to share the unique experiences of being a Black family supporting someone living with ulcerative colitis, PSC, and life after an organ transplant.
